Chairman’s
Message
By
Chairman of the Board Stephen Mohr
Webster
defines fuel as a source of sustenance (strength or nourishment)
or incentive.
Many
folks are amazed at the USP’s ability to continue to run strong
and show no signs of running out of fuel. Where do we get
our fuel supply? The answer is obvious…. Everywhere. The USP’s
fuel is delivered in many forms. When it comes to fuel, the
USP can use it all. We are the omnivore of outdoor sportsmen
groups.
USP
gets its fuel tanks filled on a regular basis. We never have
to make a scheduled fuel stop. Often our tanks are full and
running over. We never allow our tanks to run low. We run
mostly on high quality fuel. Sort of like the old gasoline
commercial, “Put a tiger in your tank” .Our fuel deliveries
come in many shapes and sizes; large and small. But, have
no fear. The USP can make energy from most any form.
During
the more recent past the USP fuel has been delivered from
unique sources. Remember the “Bird” story; Stormy Girl? Then
there was the Union County” Bear” story. Oh, and we wouldn’t
want to forget the “Clubbing of the fawns”.
For
the last ten years, nothing has fueled our tanks more than
the PGC’s Fatally Flawed Deer Management Plan. It has been
a major source of energy. It appears that unless some major
players wake up and get in the game, this program will continue
to provide major motivation and strength for the USP’s mission.
Last
month we received a major fuel delivery. Seems an outdoor
writer, for a Pennsylvania publication, implied that USP was
a single issue group. He stated USP is only interested in
deer. WOW. Didn’t take much to show his lack of knowledge
about the USP. But We “Got” fuel. Then again, what should
one expect from a writer whose name is synonymous with hammerhead?
You
Got Fuel? We Got Fuel. USP Receiving Station Is Always Open.
We Never Run On Empty. Thanks for the Deliveries. If you have
issues to report, or answers to provide, feel free to contact
us.
