FALL
2011 USP MEETINGS
Our
Fall Board and Membership meetings were held on Sept 10
th in Milesburg. Unfortunately during the week leading up
to the meeting, Pa was hit with some of the worst flooding
in history. Most of our board members did well and made
the trip across the state. But, a few were hit rather hard
and had to stay home. Although the board meeting was well
attended, the membership meeting attendance was very light.
We are considering making changes to that meeting to try
to increase participation.
The
date for the Spring 2012 meetings was tentatively set for
March 24, 2012 at the Quality Inn, Milesburg, PA, located
1 mile north of exit 158 of US route 80 on PA route 150.
The
main item of business was the election of officers for the
upcoming year. All five officers were retained, but three
of them changed positions. Randy Santucci is President,
Wayne Haas is Vice President, Blaine Toy remains as Secretary,
Pete Kingsley remains as Treasurer, and Steve Mohr is now
the Chairman. The new officers officially took office on
October 10, 2011.
The
treasurer’s report was both good and bad. The good is that
we have come very close to clearing the debt from the large
bills due to our lawsuit pertaining to the mis-management
of deer hunting. The bad news is that, although we are in
the black, we do not have a large amount of working capital.
However, we are projecting another good year of revenue
by way of memberships, winter sport shows, donations, and
fund raisers. Because we are an all-volunteer organization,
we’ll keep going to Harrisburg and addressing our other
initiatives. All in all, we are in pretty darn good shape.
